History of the Buckley Vermont Weekend

(It should be noted that I did take some literary leeway)

1986
Frank Francini, Pascal Rungo, Mark Altobelli, David Perez, and Rafael Ortiz come up with assorted girlfriends. Basketball tournament is played.

1987
Rum is used up and we use Barcardi 151 instead and 7 people take 5 O’clock naps.  New rock covered basketball court is unveiled in middle of field. If they build it with rocks, that means that people will not come.  David Perez wins tournament.  Umass friends invade Vermont.

1988
Cece’s first summer trip. People from Watertown invade the house.

1990
John and Cece engaged. David Perez continues record run of girlfriends (4). Record is still intact.

1991
Pictionary played.  Sean and Steve snag artist Pam Roberts for there group and win.  Gunter and Dawn cannot draw for beans.  Glenn brings up powerboat for water skiing.

1992
Torrential rain for first 16 Hours and no electricity. City Slickers considering leaving due to lack of electricity but they got lost.  Master jumps at lighting into Cece’s lap.

1993
Record number of golfers and nurses at MountainView  golf course. 5 groups of four play 18 holes with four beginners.  Sean Biggart attempts golf cart attack on John Buckley. John being so nimble evaded the golf cart by rolling down the hill with his and Cece’s pull carts and clubs. Chris Kelliher birdies the 16th hole par 6. 30 people show up and 4 houses are rented. Kathy Williams comes in third place in the longest drive against the men at the 16th hole par 6.

Sean Biggart meets his future wife Jean Smith meet for the first time.

1994
Sarah is born. Last minute party since birth was June 21st. Sean Biggart meets his future wife Jean Smith meet for the second time.

1995
Sean finally asked Jean out.

1996
More kids born = less golfers. Mountainous St. Johnsbury Golf Course is explored. Jean and Sean meet again.  10 Years!

1997
Jean and Sean married

1999
John golfs with Kellihers at Mountain View Golf Course.  Everyone notices that each hole is named after dead New Yorkers named Vinny and Carmine and each died between 20-30 years old.

2000
Cece pregnant with Emily.

2001
Emily’s first year.

2005
Three dogs in our house and Tupelo is not the biggest.

2006
Switched to August do to lack of rentals. No golf for first time in 16 years.  Belmont neighbors invade Vermont.

2007
Trek to Beaver Pond. More Belmont Neighbors.

2010
Tennis invasion begins

2011
Tennis invasion continues in masse. Great tennis and photos by all.

Last year of the Irish invasion. David Gleeson leaves for Dublin. Tami wins Best Tennis outfit. Forrester wins Best Photographer.

Tom Hardy wins Best Tennis Player Mike Pizzi wins Ping Pong game. Chefs fired from Grill for burning the food. Tom Hardy brings best drink (More Spiced Rum). Tami still the Best Tennis outfit.
