Directions to the Buckley house

• Take 93 North past Littleton, NH. Just before the Vermont Border 93 North runs parallel to the Moore Reservoir (very conspicuous from road):

• Take Exit 44 : Routes 135 & 18, “Monroe / Waterford, Vt.” there is a blue sign that says “Rest Area / Scenic Vista”. (If you enter Vermont on Rte. 93 you’ve gone too far).

• Take a left at the end of the ramp towards Waterford, Vt. (Watch speed (35 mph) there have been traps!) 0.8 mile after the ramp there is a sign for Waterford, Vermont, forking off of the main road to the right:

• Take the fork to the right in the direction of Waterford, Vermont. You are on Route 18 North. You will cross the Connecticut River, drive under Rt. 93 and after 1.3 miles or so you will see a small cluster of buildings on the left. The Rabbit Hill Inn is on the corner, a beautiful white church is also in the cluster:

• Take a left here. You are in White Village, Lower Waterford. You are running parallel to the Connecticut River, heading generally West. After 2.4 miles there is a road which forks off to the right and goes uphill. The main road continues straight and stays low.

• Continue straight at this fork. Just after the fork (0.2 miles) you will cross a narrow bridge (marked as such by yellow sign) and the paved road will end. You are entering Waterford Springs. Another 1.1 miles along there will be a small clearing. There is a driveway on the right, and then a road on the right underneath high voltage power lines.

• Turn right onto this road, Copenhagen Road (street sign is a green cylinder post). About 0.2 mile along, the road turns sharply to the left.

• At this point, you turn sharply to the right onto Deer Run Lane and ascend the steep road that leads to the Buckley’s house. The road runs straight up, winds left then right, crosses under the power lines and you’re at the front door. Deer Run Lane is about 0.3 mile long.
Do not drive past the front door or else you will tumble down the hill, perhaps overturning several times, and eventually come to rest in the Connecticut River, some 153 feet below.
